What are relationships meant for? Why do they exist? Why has God made relationships? Why can't a human being live in isolation without these reationships? Why do they want someone in the form of mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, lover, husband, wife, children, etc.? Why does a man need them? What was the real purpose of God to make such relations? Why does a child need to come out from a mother's womb, why couldn't God just throw a baby on the ground from the sky?
God has made such relations to fulfill different needs of a man, to make a human being complete. The first relationship that takes place is between a child & his/her mother. This is the first and the most purest form of relationship that exists on earth. Relationships protect us, make us experience love, enjoy life and celebrate. Life becomes easier with loved ones. It is important for human beings survival to be wanted and to want someone.
But what happens when such relationships instead of enhancing your growth and development start causing damage to you emotionally and/or physically. What happens when they try to curb your freedom and cut your wings for their own selfish interest or insecurities. It is painful. It is suffocating. It is devastating. It is worse than dying. Its like life imprisonment where you have got to suffer all your life. It feels terrible when you come across a situation wherein a person whom you trust the most and to whom you look up to, break your trust and you get to discover truths which are heartbreaking and which literally shakes your foundation. How to deal with those people whom you love the most, who mean the world to you are giving you the maximum pain. You feel jangled, its like experiencing hell on earth.
Trust, Love, Respect and Mutual Understanding are the four pillars which form a strong foundation on which a relationship stands.
According to me, an ideal relationship is one which gives you enough space and independence to be yourself, allow you to pursue your dreams but most importantly, let you live.
